Ethnobiology: Rufous-sided towhees are somewhat similar in appearance to robins, but smaller and with other differences. The male has a black hood, back and wings while the female has the same pattern, but with brown. Both the male and female have white spots on the wings, a white breast, and reddish sides. Towhees have red eyes.
